Emilio "Mutsie" Montemurro

Emilio S. "Mutsie" Montemurro, 89, of Lower Burrell, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, in the Southwestern Veterans Center, Pittsburgh. Born April 15, 1927, in Arnold, he was a son of the late Eugenio and Francesca (Caicco) Montemurro. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine (Kowaleski) Montemurro, and second wife, Norma L. (Gray) Montemurro. Besides his parents and two wives, he was predeceased by a brother, Nick Montemurro, and a sister, Angie Ofiesh. He served in the Army during World War II, worked at American St. Gobain in Arnold for 25 years and Westinghouse for 15 years before retiring in 1989.  He was a member of the Hunter and Fisherman's Club in New Kensington and the Lower Burrell VFW.  Mutsie enjoyed traveling. He is survived by two sons, Raymond (Kelly) Montemurro, of Lower Burrell, and Robert E. Montemurro, of Lower Burrell; daughter, Cathy Jo Serene, of Lower Burrell; three grandchildren, Anthony Serene, Maria F. Montemurro and Raymond A. Montemurro Jr.; sister, Dolores Bokros, of Oakmont; also many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 5th Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, Owner-Supervisor, until time of service at 12:30 p.m., with Pastor Bob Waterloo presiding.
