George "Jim" J. Peterson

George J. "Jim" Peterson, 77, of New Kensington, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born March 4, 1940, in Pittsburgh, son of the late George and Blanche (Burton) Peterson. He was the husband of Lois J. (DiFonzo) Peterson, for 47 years, of New Kensington. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Dodson and Marilyn Lukehart. Jim worked for more than 30 years making countertops. He enjoyed all Pittsburgh sports, especially the Steelers. Also he made custom tables, enjoyed golf, reading, walking his dog and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Lois J. (DiFonzo) Peterson, of 47 years, of New Kensington; two sons, Carl (Dawn) Siwak, of Lower Burrell, and Michael (Missy) Peterson, of New Kensington; a daughter, Carolyn Siwak-Rogers, of Brackenridge; four granddaughters, Anastasia "Asia" Rogers, Brittany Rogers, Anna Rose Siwak and Abigail Siwak; and a great-granddaughter, Melody Bertsch, his dog, Velvet 2, and many nieces and nephews.
