M.Gioconda "Jackie" Cianflone

M. Gioconda "Jackie" Cianflone, 97, formerly of Arnold, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at St. Clair Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born May 14, 1920, in Platania, Italy, to the late Angelo and Rose (Grandinetti) Torcaso. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Cianflone, who died in 1992; a son, Dr. Daniel Cianflone; a brother, Michael Torcaso; and two sisters, Mary DeFazio and Mabel Pellafone. Jackie was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, and the Addolorata Society of the church. She also was a member of the Forward America Ladies Lodge and enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining and spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Ralph (Lorraine) Cianflone, Ed.D., of Upper St Clair; three grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey Cianflone, of Upper St. Clair, attorney Matthew (Maygan) Cianflone, of Massachusetts, and attorney Christina (Dr. Irwin) Liu, of Seattle; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew Cianflone, Zackary Cianflone, Nathan Cianflone and Avery Liu. Also surviving is a brother, Enrico (Sarah) Torcaso, of Las Vegas; and a daughter-in-law, Maureen Cianflone. Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner/supervisor. Prayers of transfer will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
