Norma "Nonna" (Giulioli) Hopkins, 91, died peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, at West Haven Manor, Apollo. She was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Arnold, to the late Augusta "Baronessa" Lisciarelli Giulioli and Ildebrando Felix Giulioli. Norma was a lifelong resident of Arnold, residing in the same home her entire life. Norma was a 1942 graduate of Arnold High School, at the age of 16. She worked for Schenley Distillery, Pittsburgh Plate Glass, the Arnold and New Kensington 5 and 10s, and Scaifes. She was Majority Inspector of Elections for 1st Ward, 1st precinct of Arnold since 1984. She was treasurer of Societa Femminile Umbria for more than 50 years. She was very proud of her Italian heritage. She enjoyed bingo and playing cards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald A. Hopkins Sr., in 1997; sisters, Aurelia "Lala" Moresi Smay and Virginia Rudert; brothers, Alfred Giulioli and Louis Giulioli; and a grandson, Larry Davis II. She is survived by her son, Ronald A. Hopkins Jr., of Arnold; and daughter, Janie Davis, of Allegheny Township; grandchildren, Amber Hopkins, Courtney Bash, Amanda Davis, Marci Ireland and Frank Ober; and six great-grandchildren, Brandon and Cara Jackson, Cheyanne and Breyanna Davis, and Kayden and Jayson Ireland. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 5th Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, Owner-Supervisor. Prayers of transfer will take place at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in Mt. St. Peter R.C. Church. Burial will be private.
