Sam retired in 1995 from the former Roadway Package System (now FedEx Ground) as Manager of Data Center Operations. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1955-59.
MEMBERSHIPS/ INTERESTS: Mt. St. Peter R.C. Church, New Kensington, Usher Holy Name Society of the church, former member of the church bowling league and the Tuesday night A.K. Men’s Bowling League. He also was a member of the Columbiana Lodge #176. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, and Arnold High School, Class of 1953.
Sam enjoyed spending time with his family, doing home remodeling projects, attending and watching sporting events, playing poker with his friends and working crossword puzzles.
SURVIVORS Wife of 60 years, Jo-Ann (Spisak) Castorina, 2 Sons, Michael Castorina, Lower Burrell and Paul Castorina, New Kensington, 2 Daughters, Elaine (Thomas) Link and Christine (John) Rossi, Lower Burrell, 4 Grandchildren, Jonathan (Michelle) McKee, Janice (Joseph) Weaver, Alexis Castorina and Stephanie (Ryan) Holets, 3 Great-grandchildren, Lucas Simpson, Chase Weaver, Keegan Ligus, and a sister, Connie (Richard) Aversa, Lower Burrell.
VISITATION TIME AND WHERE: Friends will be received Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 P.M. in the Giunta-Bertucci Funeral Home, Inc., 1509 5th Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, Owner-Supervisor.
FUNERAL TIME & PLACE: Prayers of transfer will take place Thursday at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. in Mt. St. Peter R.C. Church.
