Theresa (Scruci) Schmaley

Theresa "Tess" Schmaley, our beloved mother, grandmother (Nana) and great-grandmother (Great Glammy), passed into the arms of Jesus from her home peacefully Thursday, April 6, 2017, surrounded by loved ones. Born Sept. 7, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Maria Scruci of Braeburn and the sister of the late Phyllis Zaffuto. Tess was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeffrey Curtis Schmaley, and her cherished husband, George. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Mazur (Thomas), of Arnold, and her son, Rick Schmaley, of Florida; grandchildren, Justin Curtis Mazur, Brittany Therese Mazur-Leahy and Jeffrey James Schmaley; and one great-grandchild, Mecrae Elianna Leahy. Her love and great joy extended well beyond her immediate family, and all who knew her loved her kindness, love, compassion and great sense of humor. This world has become an even darker place without her smile and inner beauty for all who had the privilege to know her. Scripture tells us that no eye has seen and no one can imagine the joy set before those who placed their faith in Christ what heaven holds. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, PA 15068, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner, supervisor.
