DECEASED FAMILY MEMBERS: Besides his parents he was preceded by a brother Rudy Valchar, 3 sisters Stella Jezik, Betty Ciuchta and Mary Anne Harnadek.
MEMBERSHIPS/ INTERESTS: He had worked as a Shipping Supervisor and Box Shop Supervisor for both PPG Creighton and Ford City until he retired in 1989 after 39 years. He was a proud Korean War Veteran serving 3 years with the Army. He was a member of Mt. St. Peter R.C. Church, New Kensington, the Pucketos Beagle Club, Millingantown, The Belgium Club, Tarentum, The Jednota of Tarentum and the Tarentum Eagle Pigeon Club. He enjoyed training Beagles and pigeons, racing pigeons, hunting, fishing, camping, taking his grandchildren to his camp in Sigel, watching the Steelers and Penguins and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Evelyn (Grosso) Valchar of New Kensington, 2 sons Greg (Pamela) Valchar, NC and Michael (Leslie) Valchar, New Kensington, a daughter Madelyn “Mada” (James) Sivak, Lower Burrell, 7 grandchildren Elizabeth (Aaron) Hunt, Douglas (Eleni) Valchar, Kathryn Valchar, Arlo (Stephanie) Sivak, Hana (Josh) Mator, Stephanie Valchar and Miles Valchar, 1 great-grandson Ember Hunt,2 brothers Joseph (Judy) Valchar, Natrona Heights and Clem (Roseann) Valchar Lower Burrell, 3 sisters Margie (Rich) Ulizio, Lower Burrell, Agnes Hindman, Chicago and Mildred (George) Hunter, Connecticut.
VISITATION TIME AND WHERE: Friends will be received Tuesday, 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Giunta-Bertucci Funeral Home, Inc., 1509 5th Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, Owner-Supervisor.
FUNERAL TIME & PLACE: Prayers of transfer will take place Wednesday 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home followed by a Funeral mass 10 A.M. at Mt. St. Peter R.C. Church, New Kensington.
BURIAL: will be private
