Anthony N. Marra

Anthony N. Marra, 84, of Lower Burrell, died Monday, May 8, 2017, in his residence. He was born June 27, 1932, in New Kensington, son of the late Ippazio and Domenica (Potenza) Marra. He was the husband of Columbia "Cal" (Lucchetti) Marra of 62 years, of Lower Burrell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Ernie, Mike, Pete and infant brother, Frank; and six sisters, Mary Sieracki, Lucy Iozzi, Phyllis Zawodniak, Josephine Nance, Antoinette Rich and Connie Dargenzio. He was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, Holy Name Society, Ushers Club and volunteered at the food bank, all with the church. He also Volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Lower Burrell and was a member of the Italian American Educational Society, Arnold, and VFW in Lower Burrell. Tony was an Army veteran of the Korean War and worked for American St. Gobain, Arnold, for 15 years, and retired from Westinghouse in Cheswick after 24 years. He also helped with funerals at the Giunta-Bertucci Funeral, Arnold, and he enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Columbia "Cal" (Lucchetti) Marra, of 62 years, of Lower Burrell; two daughters, Alda Marie (John) Marra-King, of Dormont, and Teresa Ballina, of Lower Burrell; three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jamie Rodgers) Mangone, Gina (Rob) Acquaviva and Lauren Ballina and fiance, Middleton Chang; and is also survived by sister, Vickie (Tony) Guida, of New Kensington, and many loving nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner-supervisor.
