Phyllis A. (Sarne) Tabacek

Phyllis A. Tabacek, 88, of Springdale, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at Amber Woods Assisted Living, Cheswick. She was born Aug. 25, 1929, in New Kensington, daughter of the late Alex and Samena (DeMao) Sarne and her late Husband Rudolph J. Tabacek. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded by a sister, Lucille Latagliata, brother, Jerry Sarne, and her dog, Toto. She was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington. A graduate of Arnold High School, she enjoyed family get-togethers with numerous loving nieces and nephews, visiting grandchildren, reminiscing with friends, playing bocce at the Springdale Vets, visiting Arnold and eating at Ladles and Glen's Custard in Springdale. Survivors include two sons, John Tabacek, of Balboa Island, Calif., and Eric (Rita) Tabacek, of Annapolis, Md.; and two grandchildren, Tatiana Rae Tabacek and Trevor Rudolph Tabacek. She is also survived by two sisters, Gloria Paletta and Amelia Sarne; and a sister-in-law, Patsy Sarne. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner-supervisor.
