Susan M. (Maradei) Dean

November 11, 1960 ~ July 6, 2017 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Susan Maradei Dean, 56, of Brackenridge, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, at UPMC St. Margaret, Pittsburgh, following a brief but severe illness. Susan was born Nov. 11,1960, at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights. She attended Most Blessed Sacrament grade school and graduated from Highlands Senior High School. She continued her studies at ICM School of Business, completing courses in accounting and medical office assisting and management. She began her career managing the physician practice of the late Dr. Hymel Fishkin and, upon his retirement, continued with the practice taking care of his patients up until 2007. From there, she went on to work for Window Fashions, UPMC Health Plan, and most recently for Home Instead as a companion and caregiver. For a brief time, Susan enjoyed working part time at the Pittsburgh Mills Wal-Mart, where she met her husband. Hobbies included interests where she could share her talents with her family and friends. Whether she was baking homemade cookies, working on crafts, or face painting with her dear friend Amy Haugh, Susan enjoyed interacting with others. She was an avid animal lover and was known for having rescued many dogs and cats over her life. A Walt Disney World fan, Susan enjoyed following the theme park blogs on social media. Susan will best be remembered for the comfort and joy she brought to her beloved husband, Bob, and best friends, Sandy and Bill Kvortek, of Vandergrift. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred M. and Gloria (Papa) Maradei. Survivors include her husband, Robert Dean; brother, Alfred (William Gedman) Maradei, of Oakmont; and maternal aunt, Jeanne LaMarca, of Westlake Ohio.
