Thelma Marie Haudon (Woodford) died Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Family Hospice, Pittsburgh, following a short and brave struggle with cancer.
Thelma was born October 6, 1953, in Chicago, the daughter of the late Col Howard Woodford USAF and the late Marie Elizabeth James. Thelma enjoyed travel. During her lifetime she lived in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Pittsburgh, and visited and worked in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Jamaica, and South Africa.
She was raised in the Baptist faith but was an avid student of comparative religion, studying the tenets of Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, and New Age thought. She enjoyed crafting resin artwork and jewelry and completed several online instruction videos for other hobbyists. She was an avid moviegoer and hockey fan, and loved jazz music and dance. Her lifelong interest in politics began with Rev Jesse Jackson's 1984 presidential campaign.
