Amy M. (Malak) Ignozzi, 66, of New Kensington passed away on March 22, 2025. Amy was born in New Kensington on August 13, 1958 to the late Robert and Mary (Calderini) Malak.
Amy was a graduate of Valley High School and received an Associate Degree from New Kensington Commercial School. She dedicated over 20 years as a cafeteria worker for the New Kensington Arnold School District.
Besides her parents, Amy was preceded in death by her son, Nicholas in 2020 and her brother, Jeffrey Malak. She is survived by her loving husband, Eugene R. Ignozzi Jr. of 41 years; sons, Anthony (Sarah) Ignozzi and Christopher Ignozzi. She is also survived by her dear family friend, Jenn Antoon. Also surviving Amy is her loving pet companion, Jada.
Amy was a friend to many, loved by many, and always known to be easy to get along with. She always put others first, especially her family. She was a kind and gentle soul who was extremely compassionate and approachable. She was like a second mother to many of her son's friends and always took time out of her life to care for others. She loved spending summers by her pool, swimming laps and soaking up the sun. She enjoyed keeping in touch with her close friends and never turned down a chance to catch up with old friends. It was a running joke in the family that, on more than one occasion, she received a call from her husband asking if she was ok because she had left a couple hours prior to go to the store for a few items and had not returned. It turns out she just ran into a friend and was chatting the whole time. That is the type of person she was. Always just there to just listen and enlighten others. She will be deeply missed by all.
Viewing will be on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Giunta-Bertucci Funeral Home, 1509 Fifth Avenue, Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, supervisor/owner.
