Diane Marie Pokusa, 77, of Lower Burrell passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024. She was born on May 13, 1946, in New Kensington to the late Anthony and Marie (Pelino) Acone.
Diane was a member of Mt. St. Peter R.C. Church in New Kensington where she also was a member of the choir and a frequent volunteer at the annual Festa and Lenten Fish Fry. Diane was a secretary for the Burrell School District for over 20+ years. After retiring, she enjoyed lounging in her pool, cooking Sunday dinners, and making Christmas cookies. She loved traveling and visiting her out-of-state children and attending various activities of her grandchildren. Most importantly, her family was her whole life.
Diane is survived by her son Anthony (Lori) Pokusa, 4 daughters, Jodie Thomas, Tina Pokusa, Erica (Michael) Lalle, and Denise (Kirk) Rhoades, and 10 grandchildren; Cara and Samantha Pokusa, Trevor and Andrea Thomas, Brenden, Eric and Hannah Lalle, and Noah, Mia and Matthew Rhoades. Also surviving are her two sisters, Denise Acone and Arleen (Bernie) Buzzelli along with many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will take place on Friday, February 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Giunta-Bertucci Funeral Home, 1509 5th Avenue, Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci supervisor/owner. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 24, 10:00 a.m. at Mt. St. Peter R.C. Church, 100 Freeport Road, New Kensington. (Everyone please meet at the church). Burial will be private.
