It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dolores (Torzolini) Fantozzi (94) of Arnold. Dolores “Dolly” passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, with her loving family by her side.
Dolly was born on March 7, 1929 in Tarentum and the daughter of the late Joseph and Cora (Petri) Torzolini who were born in Italy. She was very proud of her Italian heritage. She was married 64 years to the late Nandino Fantozzi and they lived in Arnold all their life.
Dolly was a 1947 graduate of Arnold High School and worked for the Wear-Ever Division of Alcoa in New Kensington until she married. She was a member of Mt. St. Peter’s Church.
Dolly enjoyed tending to her home, especially her rock garden. She enjoyed baking, especially Italian wedding cookies, pizzelles, and biscotti. Her favorite vacation trip was to Atlantic City during her childhood and married life.
Dolly’s presence will be deeply missed by her two beloved daughters, Emily Fantozzi with whom she resided and Deanna (Daniel) Querio of Greensburg. She was a loving grandmother to Daniel (Justyna) Querio, Jr. and Melissa (Todd) Solomon. She is also survived by her beautiful great-grandchildren Konrad and Emma Querio and Dominic and Nick Solomon and sister-in-law Pasqua Molscan, as well as nephews, nieces, and cousins, and dear friend Janet Adamczyk.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Cora Torzolini and husband Nandino, brothers-in-law Reno Fantozzi, Michael Intorre, and Daniel Molscan and sisters-in-laws Sylvia Fantozzi and Rosalie Intorre, as well as many cousins; but especially her cousin Rita Winegarden, who was like a sister to her and who lived with her for a short time during childhood.
The family would like to extend a special thank you, appreciation, and gratitude to AHN Hospice nurses and aides, especially Jamie Slater, Laura Cevario, Kalyn Waldot, and Andrea, and also AHN Home & Palliative Care, who regularly came and provided wonderful care to Dolly during the past 3 years.
Dolly was a very kind woman who cared deeply about her family. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 pm Sunday at Giunta-Bertucci Funeral Home, Inc., 1509 Fifth Avenue, Arnold, JohnPaul Supervisor/Owner.
Prayers of Transfer will take place Monday 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass 1:00 p.m. at Mt. St. Peter R.C. Church, New Kensington. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Arnold.
