Obituary

Edith "Inez" Guerrini, a resident of Adult Living at Rosebrook and a former resident of Lower Burrell for 70 years, passed away peacefully and with her family at her side Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, UPMC St. Margaret Hospital. Edith was born Feb. 23, 1926, to Filomena (Belli) and Valentino Ferrazzoli at her parents' home in New Kensington. Edith graduated from Ken Hi Class of 1944 where she met her future husband, Frank E. Guerrini, whom she married Aug. 31, 1946. She is survived by her sons, Larry (Virginia) Guerrini, of Frazer Township, and Mark Guerrini, daughter, Marianne (Mark) Thomas, both of Lower Burrell, and daughter-in-law, Rosemary Guerrini, of McCandless Township. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer (Donnie) Harkins, Michael Guerrini, Daniel (Jennifer) Guerrini, Paul Guerrini, Monica (Thomas) Dredge and Marybeth (Molly) Thomason, David (Kristin) Thomas, Veronica, Jacob, Luke and Vincent Guerrini, Elizabeth (James) Scafuri and Heather McQuaid. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Joseph and Jaxon Guerrini, Maddox DeAntonio, Chase and Reese Dredge, Mario, Parker and Sadie Thomas, Makenna and Micah Thomason, Harloe Scafuri, Logan and Winter Stampahar, and many nieces, nephews and friends. "Grandma Edie" loved to cook and bake cakes, pies and cookies for all occasions. Edie was also an avid gardener. She was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Addolorato Society. Edie enjoyed her time as a member of the Red Hats and the EKCC. She also loved to travel and went on two tours of Italy, England and Spain. During World War II, she worked at GE. In later years, she worked at Catoris Candies, J.C. Penney's, Penn State NK Cafeteria and at Valley Middle School as a school secretary. She was especially proud of being the owner and operator of Edie's Dairy Delite in Lower Burrell. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Guerrini, Feb. 8, 1992; a son, Frank A Guerrini; daughter-in-law, Mary Pat Guerrini; brother, Anthony (Toni) Ferrazzoli; and sisters, Lena (Albert) Mangini, Anna Marie (Harry) Peli and Gloria (Carlo) Gentile. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, John Paul Bertucci owner/supervisor.. Prayers of Transfer will take place at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mt. St. Peter Legacy Society.
