Edward Joseph Nemet Jr., 74, of Lower Burrell, passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at VA Medical Center, Pittsburgh. He was born Feb. 6, 1947, in New Kensington, to the late Edward Joseph and Joann "Nina" (Lucchetti) Nemet Sr. and was the husband of 16 years to Eileen Marie (O'Neil) Nemet, of Lower Burrell. Ed was a proud Army veteran during Vietnam and worked as a mechanical engineer. He was an enthusiastic gun collector and enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Also, he was a member of the Lower Burrell VFW Post No. 92 and Lower Burrell American Legion Post No. 868. Survivors included wife of 16 years, Eileen Marie (O'Neil) Nemet, of Lower Burrell; three sons, E.J. (Courtney) Nemet III, of Ohio, Cullan (Jenna) Nemet, of Apollo, and Dan (Megan) O'Neil, of West Virginia; and six grandchildren, Brody, Zach and Benjy Nemet, Lily and Kenzie Nemet, and Liam O'Neil. Ed also survived by a brother, Tom (Marcy) Nemet, of Gibsonia; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday, 6 to 8 p.m. at GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, PA 15068, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner/supervisor. The VFW will hold a service at 6:15 p.m. and the American Legion will also hold a service at 7:45 p.m. both in the funeral home Monday evening. Burial will be private.
