Egidio Ciappetta, 68, of Upper Burrell Township, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, in his home. He was born May 11, 1949, in Domanico, Italy, to the late Giovanni Ciappetta and Antoinetta (Veltri) Ciappetta, of Italy. Besides his father, he was preceded by two brothers, Franchino and Michele Ciappetta. He was the proud owner of Egidio's Pizza in New Kensington for the past 32 years. Egidio enjoyed the outdoors, winemaking, soccer and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Billie S. (Armbrust) Ciappetta, of Upper Burrell Township; his mother, Antoinetta (Veltri) Ciappetta, of Italy; three brothers, Russ (Nadine) Ciappetta, of Upper Burrell, Beniamino Ciappetta, of Belgium, and Renato Ciappetta, of Germany; four sisters, Angela (Charles) Mazziotti, of Texas, Elena (Joseph) Guzzo, of Lower Burrell, Marinella (Kurt) Lamendola, of Lower Burrell, and Gabriella Ciappetta, of Germany; sister-in-law, Pamela Ciappetta, of New Kensington; two brothers-in-law, Ted (Sandy) Armbrust, of East Deer, and Todd (Amy) Armbrust, of Cheswick; his beloved cat, Mia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner-supervisor. Prayers of transfer will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at noon at Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington.
