Eugene "Gene" R. Rosati, 81, of Arnold, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021. He was born Oct. 19, 1939, in Arnold, the son of John and Agnes Rosati. Eugene was a 1957 graduate of Arnold High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh where he played football. Gene began his professional career at Alcoa Corp. and eventually started the Southwest Business Forum in Arnold, where he enthusiastically served his customers for 39 years. After his retirement, Gene continued his many hobbies, including photography, golf, learning Italian and making wine, where he enjoyed the fruits of his labors. Gene was active in his community. As a member of Mount St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, he was a member of the Ushers Club for more than 30 years, the Holy Name Society, and the golf and bowling leagues. Gene was a mentor to hundreds of youth as a 12-year football coach with the Ar-Ken Rens, and a 35-year PIAA track and football official. Gene considered his family his greatest joy. He married his high school sweetheart, Charlene (Painter) Rosati, and was a loving and devoted husband for 61 years. Gene was deeply loved and respected by his children, Craig A. (Amy) Rosati, of Pittsburgh, Daniel E. (Susan) Rosati, of Pittsburgh, Kelly L. (Donald) Storr, of Maryland, Rebecca J. (Jody) Ruble, of Greensburg, and Brian E. (Leah) Rosati, of Maryland. Gene was the proud Grandpap to 17 grandchildren. He loved spending time with family, celebrating, laughing, and telling great stories. Gene was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Doris (Rosati) Tony. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner/supervisor. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 100 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Everyone attending the Mass, please meet at the church. Burial will be private. Due to CDC guidelines, the wearing of masks is encouraged.
