Evelyn Valchar, 91, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side on Monday, October 17, 2022, in Westminster Place, Oakmont. She was born October 16, 1931, in Arnold, to the late James and Elizabeth (Saccardi) Grosso. She was married to the late William Valchar for 62 years, who passed away in 2016. Evelyn was a member of Mt. St. Peter R. C. Church, New Kensington and the Jednota Slovak American Club in Tarentum. Evelyn had great pride in being wholly immersed in the joy, love, responsibility, and selflessness it takes to be a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. Evelyn dedicated her life’s pursuit to be the strong and tender hearted person that everyone in her life could count on. She enjoyed spending her evenings at Pucketos Beagle Club with her husband, watching the beagles run. She loved to go to their camp in Sigel ,PA, with her children and grandchildren, to fish and enjoy the outdoors with her family. Above all, she loved her family, to which she dedicated her life.
Surviving her are a daughter, Madelyn "Mada" (James) Sivak of Lower Burrell; two sons Greg (Pam) Valchar of NC, Michael (Leslie) Valchar of New Kensington; sister, Jean Lecocq of Lower Burrell; four granddaughters, Elizabeth (Aaron) Hunt, Kathryn (Hunter) Scott, Hana (Joshua) Mator, Stephanie Valchar; three grandsons, Douglas (Eleni) Valchar, Arlo (Stephanie) Sivak and Miles Valchar; three great grandchildren, Ember Hunt, Arrow Hunt and Sofia Valchar. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be Private. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
