Gloria D (DiMuzio) Schmidt

Gloria D. Schmidt, 97, of New Kensington, passed peacefully on June 7, 2025.  Born on October 26, 1927 in Arnold, she was the daughter of the late Matteo and Antonetta (Acone) DiMuzio.  Gloria was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell Schmidt, Sr. in 2019, brothers James and Anthony DiMuzio and a sister Rita Greco. 

Gloria was a devoted mother, sister, and aunt.  Surviving Gloria is her son, Russell Schmidt Jr., and daughters Ruth Ann and Jennifer Schmidt, all of New Kensington.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Prior to marriage, Gloria was a clerk for Alcoa.  She was a member of Mt. St. Peter Addolorata Society and enjoyed reading, watching TV, sewing, crafting, and especially spending time with her family.  She loved her cats and loved her hats.  She was especially fond of decorating for the holidays and every season. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 10 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Giunta-Bertucci Funeral Home, Inc., 1509 Fifth Avenue, Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner/supervisor.  Prayers of Transfer will take place on Wednesday, June 11 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. St. Peter R.C. Church, 100 Freeport Road, New Kensington.  Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
