Guido Bartolacci,95, formerly of New Kensington, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 3rd, surrounded by his family. He was born June 11, 1928 in Colonnella, Italy to the late Giuseppe and Teresa (Rossi) Bartolacci. Known for his exceptional clothing, Guido began tailoring at just 11 years old around Colonnella, Italy, his hometown. In time, he moved with his wife Adriana, son Giuseppe, and sisters to become a master tailor on Via Montenapoleone in Milan's prestigious clothing district. At the urging of his father, Guido brought his family to New Kensington to join his brothers' tailoring shop. Despite uncertainty and homesickness, Guido and his brothers made Bartolacci Brothers into a locally acclaimed institution. He has been a force and pillar of strength, as he tirelessly worked up until the day he died at the age of 95, serving multiple generations of customers. He was never one to parse words when it came to changes in waist size, especially when there was a significant increase. Commonly seen walking with his dog Charlie on the Pittsburgh Field Club golf course, he rarely sat still for too long. At the end of the day, he was the embodiment of the American Dream realized and a life well lived. But to us and our family, he made our lives so much better and brought everyone together while creating priceless memories and stories. A local celebrity, he will be missed by so many; the nicest man who owned the tailor shop across from Fairview Elementary.
He is a loving father, husband, brother, a master tailor, and faithful Catholic; but he is most of all dearly loved by all who come in contact with him. Guido is survived by his two sons Joseph (Pino) and wife Linda, and Robert and wife Kim; as well as his beloved grandchildren Annalese, Robert, Matthew, Joe, and Cristina, and sister Pietrina, who still presides near Milan, Italy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Adriana, and his 6 siblings Stella, Mafrino, Gaspare, Nea, Giuseppina, and Francesca.
Friends and family will be received at the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, Inc. 1509 5th avenue, Arnold, PA, JohnPaul Bertucci, Owner/Supervisor on Tuesday, December 5th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
