Helen (Coval) Saccardi

Helen Saccardi, age 107, formerly of Logans Ferry Heights, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, in Oakmont. Born on September 14, 1917, in Fairchance, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Susan (Karaffa) Coval.

Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bruno Saccardi, in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Donald Coval, and her sisters, Elizabeth Nestor and Marie Bittinger.

Helen is survived by her loving daughters, Lynette (Terry) Focareta of Plum, and Lori (Kevin) Shafer of South Carolina. She was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren and a devoted great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren.

A woman of deep faith and strong community spirit, Helen was a longtime member of Mount Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church in New Kensington, where she was also part of the Addolorta Society. She worked for many years in the cafeteria of Mary Queen of Apostles School, where she brought warmth and kindness to students and staff alike.

Helen was also a dedicated member of the Logans Ferry Heights Fire Department and its Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching baseball, crocheting, and most of all, spending time with her beloved family.

Her life was a testament to love, service, and resilience, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Services and burial will be private. Arrangements are being handled by the giunta-bertucci Funeral Home, Inc., 1509 Fifth Avenue, Arnold, PA 15068.
