Irana Davis Obituary

Irana Davis, 76, of Oakmont, formerly of Lower Burrell, died peacefully with her family by her side in Akron General Hospital after a 10-month-long fight with side effects of the covid-19 vaccine Friday, Feb. 11, 2022. She was born Aug. 26, 1945, to the late Merle and Tina (Flotta) Lamanna. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul "Butch" Davis. She was raised in Arnold and was a very proud graduate of the Class of 1963 from Arnold High School. She worked for PPG for 40 years in both Springdale and PPG Place in Pittsburgh. After retiring from PPG, she then owned Easley Florist for 10 years. For the next 10 years, she worked with her son, Todd, running a chain of Quiznos restaurants before completely retiring in 2010. She really enjoyed reading, loved watching TV series and most recently, crocheting blankets for veterans. She also really enjoyed shopping and going out with her friends, especially her friends from the Class of '63. Irana had a very unique personality and style that left an impression on anyone that she met. She was very quick witted and had unwavering sarcasm. Though only five feet tall, she commanded respect and was happy to make her opinion known. She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother and a great cook. She was a life member of the VFW and donated monthly to countless charities. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, Todd (Kerry) Davis, of Allegheny Township; three stepchildren, Paula (Kelly) Mason, of Sarver, Rhonda Davis, of Lower Burrell and Paul (Nina) Davis, of West Virginia; and three step-grandchildren, Hannah Mason, Jack Mason and Paige Davis. She is also survived by many close cousins, nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner/supervisor. Prayers of Transfer will take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. Burial to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. Due to CDC guidelines, the wearing of masks is encouraged. To leave an online condolence, visit www.giunta-bertucci.com.
