Irene Roarke Obituary

Irene Roarke, 84, of New Kensington, died Sunday, April 11, 2021, in her residence. She was born July 24, 1936, in New Kensington, daughter of the late Samuel and Stella (Stonis) Roarke. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Roarke. Irene enjoyed her summers at the pool and visiting the casinos. She also enjoyed spending time with her sister and appreciated her cooking. She retired from the New Kensington Water Authority after 48 years. She is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Sowol, of New Kensington; a niece, Diane (Charles) Morrow, of New Kensington; nephew, Dave (Gale) Sowol, of Lower Burrell; two great-nephews, Ryan Sowol and Justin (Emily) Morrow; two great-nieces, Megan Sowol and Julia Morrow; and a great-great-niece, Dakota Morrow. The family would like to thank AHN Hospice nurses and Sandy Dunkel at Care At Home, for their compassionate and professional care of their loved one.
