James Daher, 91, of Arnold, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, in Lower Burrell. He was born March 12, 1935, in Arnold to the late Michael and Selma (Cross) Daher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maxine (Tyson) Daher, in 2006; two brothers, Elias and George Daher; and three sisters, Mary Cross, Helen Powell, and Hannah Daher.
James is survived by his loving children, Randy (Laurie) Daher and Jayme (Stephen) Skeba. He was a proud grandfather to Stephen (Sarah) Skeba, Julie (Adam) Lee, Jaclyn (DeVaughn) Mitchell, and James M. Daher; and a cherished great-grandfather to Sophia, Hannah, Maxine, and Franklin, who is expected soon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
James was a graduate of Arnold High School, Class of 1953. James proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a devoted member of the Arnold United Methodist Church, where he was a strong supporter of the church’s monthly pancake breakfasts. He enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, following Pittsburgh sports, and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Burrell Flyers Football program. During his 18 years residing in Connecticut, James was a dedicated supporter of the Special Olympics and was actively involved with the PA Junior Miss Pageants and the Pennsylvania Jaycees.
He was employed at Alcoa, H.J. Heinz, and later at Heublein in Hartford, CT, where he worked until his retirement.
Above all, James treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Wayne and Jill Harris, Tom Shank, and the staff of The Addison at Logan Place, as well as Monarch Hospice, for their compassionate care.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Giunta-Bertucci Funeral Home, Inc., 1509 5th Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, Owner/Supervisor. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Arnold.
