Josephine (Gezzi) Hont, 90, of Arnold, went to be with the Lord, Monday Jan. 18, 2021, at Amber Woods in Harmerville, Pa. She passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side. Josephine was born on March 19, 1930, in Fort Palmer near Ligonier, Pa. to the late Anna and Luigi Gezzi.
Soon after she was born the family moved to Russellton, Pa where she spent most of her life with her sisters and brother. She married Harry Hont (WWII veteran) and moved to Arnold, Pa where she raised her family. She was a devoted Catholic and a member of Mount St. Peter Church in New Kensington where she served as an Eucharistic minister of Holy Communion and would take Holy Communion to the sick and home bound.
She was a devoted wife and mother and loved hosting Sunday dinners with her family. For a short time, she worked outside the home for a dry cleaner and she cleaned doctors offices with her husband to make some extra money to spend on her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to church. She loved the Lord and it showed through her selflessness and kindness to others, especially her family and friends. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch and taking with her neighbors till well after sundown.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Harry Hont, her sisters Gloria Yaconis and Thelma Micklow and nephew John Micklow. She is survived by her children; Catherine (David) Cichowski, and Carol (Carl) Pasquariello of Virginia; her grandchildren, Ashley Cichowski (AJ), Amanda (Matt) Morris of New York, Michael Cichowski, and Sara Pasquariello of Virginia; her sisters Louise (Ed) Scopel, and Mary Ann (Bill) Doughty and her brother Michael Gezzi; her nieces Debbie (Todd) Berky, Colleen (Brad) Patton, Lisa (Mark) Gezzi-Lutynsky of Florida, and Michelle Gezzi-Kessler of Texas; her nephews Frank (Candy) Yaconis of Arizona, Orlando (Cheryl) Yaconis of West Virginia, Rick (Patty) Yaconis of Illinois, Mark (Tracy) Yaconis and Tony (Donna) Gezzi; numerous cousins and her care givers who were very good to her.
