Mary DeLuca Obituary

Mary DeLuca, 92, of Arnold, died Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Amber Woods, Cheswick. She was born Aug. 12, 1929, in Lago, Cosenza, Italy, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Aminadama (Mazzotta) Valle. She was the wife of the late Carmine DeLuca, who predeceased her in 1979. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Aminadama "Amy" DeLuca; two brothers, Louis and Antonio Valle; and a sister, Chiara Valle. She was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, and the Addolorata Society of the church. Upon her arrival to America, she worked as a seamstress for more than 40 years at Jensport Manufacturing, and she also worked at Costa's, making ravioli and gnocchi. Mary enjoyed crocheting, baking her famous cookies (buccanotti) and delicious Easter bread. She found great joy in sharing her baked goods with all of her family and friends. She loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren, and constantly prayed for her family's health. She is survived by two daughters, Filippina (David) Prevost, of Springdale, and Carmela (Gerald) Marra, of Natrona Heights; six grandchildren, David Prevost, Jennifer (William) Robich, Phillip Prevost, Gerald Marra, Brian (Gretchen) Marra and Jenna (Gregory) Dulnikowski; and eight great-grandchildren, Helena and DJ Prevost, Brooks and Colin Robich, Brianna and Brennan Marra and Haley and Hunter Dulnikowski. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Jennie Valle, of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 22, in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner/supervisor. Prayers of transfer will take place at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington.
