Nicolina "Nickie" V. (Rucci) Petricca

Nicolina "Nickie" V. Petricca, 91, of New Kensington, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at Oakmont Center Nursing Home. Born June 22, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Bambina (D'Achille) Rucci. She was a member of Mt. St. Peter R.C. Church, New Kensington, as well as the Addolorata Society of the church. She worked as a librarian and volunteered for Mt. St. Peter's school cafeteria. Also an aide for the New Kensington - Arnold School district. A member of the Columbiana Lodge, she served as treasurer in the past. She was a lottery clerk for Foodland in New Kensington for over 25 years and enjoyed sewing, bowling and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic Petricca, in 2016. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and Al Rucci, and two sisters, Christina McKale and Theresa Weblinger. She is survived by two sons, Dominic J. Petricca, New Kensington, and Perry F. (Amy) Petricca, Butler; a granddaughter, Marissa L. Petricca; a brother, John (Elaine) Rucci, Arnold; a sister, Mary Ardisson, Apollo, and many nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the GUINTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner/supervisor. Prayers of transfer will take place Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Mt. St. Peter R.C. Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
