Patricia Uhric Obituary

Patricia “Patty” (Eyberger) Uhric passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2022 in Select Specialty/UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA after a lengthy illness.  Patty was born on April 21, 1945 in Natrona Heights, PA.  She lived with her family in the Pittsburgh area where she graduated from Butler High School, and briefly in New Jersey where she attended Rutgers University.  She lived and worked in Washington DC for many years, often expressing her love for her friends there, the beauty of the city and its many historical buildings and monuments, and of her time spent on Capitol Hill involved in various work-related assignments.  The events of January 6, 2021 at the Capitol affected her deeply…she insisted, in spite of battling overwhelming health issues, that she be able to submit her mail-in ballot for the 2022 mid-term elections!
Patty’s interests and passions were many, and she threw herself fully into whatever project she undertook, whether it was supporting local animal shelters and charities, crafting beautiful quilts, needlepoint or other unique and heartfelt gifts for loved ones, or researching family roots and traveling to the homestead of her 4th great grandparents and tending to the gravesites in the original family cemetery.  She was fearless when it came to taking on new challenges and adventures, and her curiosity for meeting and learning about people and places knew no limits.  Her energy was a bright light to all who knew and loved her, and she will be deeply missed.
Patty was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret (Gearhard) Eyberger, her father Harry Eyberger, and her beloved dog Laci.
She leaves behind her loving family:  husband Raymond Uhric and her fur-baby Aussie of Moon Township, PA, brother Robert Eyberger and wife (Debby) of Newark, DE, sister Sharon Eyberger of Brackenridge, PA, two nieces:  Amy (Eyberger) Brennan and Gretchen (Eyberger) Farrall of Newark, DE, great-niece and nephew Grace Farrall and Peter Brennan of Newark, DE,  countless friends and extended family.
