Rodney F. Zampogna, 65, of Greensburg, passed away with his daughter by his side, Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, after a battle with an extremely rare acute cancer. He was born June 14, 1953, in New Kensington. Son of the late Rinaldo and Josephine (Feroce) Zampogna, Rod lived in Lower Burrell until he was 25, living the past 40 years in Greensburg. He was a 1971 graduate of Burrell High School, and also a graduate of Penn State University. Rod worked for Westmoreland and Indiana Counties. His passion was hunting, fishing, the outdoors and following the stock market. Rod was preceded in death by his wife, Barb Zampogna. He is survived by his daughters, Gina (Chris) Wolfe, of North Carolina, and Jackie Zampogna Fisher, of Jeannette; his son, Rodney "Roddy" Zampogna II, of Greensburg; two beautiful granddaughters, Madison and Mackenzie Wolfe, of North Carolina; his brother, Ron (Debi) Zampogna, of Lower Burrell; his nephews, Ron (Jamie) Zampogna, of Sarver, and Ryan (Kelley) Zampogna, of Allegheny Township; and also many cousins. Friends will be received from 6 p.m. until time of service at 8 p.m. Thursday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, PA 15068, with the Father Ken Zaccagnini presiding.
