Ronald A. Frederick, 85, of New Kensington, passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, in Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot. He was born July 10, 1936, in New Kensington, to the late James and Adalina E. (Ricciardelli) Frederick. He was the husband of the late Karen (Adiutori) Frederick, who died on Jan. 16, 2021. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Frederick; and a sister, Dolores Lichok.
Ron graduated from California University with degree in Elementary Education, and from Duquesne University with a Masters in Guidance Counseling. Ron taught for 30 years at Kiski Area High School as a fifth grade Elementary teacher, and then as a Guidance Counselor at the high school.
He was a member of Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, Holy Name Society, was an usher for more than 10 years, was a commentator for Mass, and was an active volunteer for the Festa and fish fry, all with the church. Also, he volunteered for the Community Clothes Closet and Knead Community Cafe. Ron was a member of the New Kensington Jaycees and a sponsor for the Junior Miss Pageant, a member of the Rotary and ringing the bell for Santa during Christmas. He also enjoyed traveling and especially any time spent with his late wife, Karen. He is survived by a sister, Mary Anne Frederick, of New Kensington; brother-in-law, William (Crystal) Adiutori; also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 100 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Everyone please meet at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner/supervisor. Burial will be private.
