Ronald Edward Valasek

Ronald Edward Valasek, Esq., 80, of Fredericksburg, Va. (formerly of Lower Burrell), passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, in Washington, D.C. He was born Nov. 1, 1942, in Harrison Township, to the late Clement A. and Helen V. (Cupec) Valasek. He served his country as a member of the Air Force. Ron was a criminal defense attorney with practices in Pennsylvania and Maryland. He was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, the Knights of Columbus, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Allegheny County Bar Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Roselee (Valasek) Napierkowski. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Rose (Reano) Valasek; a son, Maj. (ret) "JR" Ronald E. (LaRae) Valasek Jr., of Virginia; and two grandchildren, Cody and Alex. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2023, at GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, John Paul Bertucci, owner/supervisor. Prayers of transfer will take place at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.
