Shirley Glogowski Obituary

Shirley Ann Glogowski, 91, of New Kensington, passed peacefully on April 26, 2026. She was born on May 28, 1934, in New Kensington, to the late Sylvester and Mildred (Gardina) Naviglia.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis Glogowski, grandson, David Martinelli, and her brother, Louis Naviglia.

 

Shirley is survived by her loving children, Francis Glogowski of Cranberry, Paula Martinelli and Karen (Jeff) Stratton both of West Virginia; She was a beloved Grandmother to five grandchildren: Sarah (Matthew) Zeh, Lydia (Sergio) Tapia, Deborah Martinelli, Caroline Stratton, and Lillian Stratton; and a cherished great-grandmother to Luca, Eliana, Charles, and Andrew. She is also survived by her sister, Genevieve Arabia of Lower Burrell along with many nieces and nephews who held her dear.

 

Shirley found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted member of Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in New Kensington, where she generously volunteered for many years at the parish Festa Italiana and the Lenten fish fry. She also enjoyed participating in her card club with her friends and neighbors and treasured attending her Ken High Class of 1952 reunions and luncheons, both of which continued for more than 40 years.

 

Before marriage and family, Shirley was employed at Alcoa for 10 years. She spoke fondly of that time making many friends and traveling on Alcoa sponsored employee trips.

 

Friends will be received on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 9:30 AM until the time of a Prayer of Transfer at 11:30 AM at the Giunta-Bertucci Funeral Home, 1509 5th Avenue, Arnold, PA 15068, Johnpaul Bertucci, Owner/Supervisor. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 noon at Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park.

  

Shirley will be remembered for her warmth, her devotion to family, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
