Stephen “Steve” Sakaluk, 91, of New Kensington, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at home, surrounded by the comfort of his family. He was born Jan. 8, 1930, in Arnold, to the late Michael and Victoria (Stapinski) Sakaluk. He worked for many years at PPG to provide a good life for his family, but what he enjoyed most was spending quality time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. He was a member of Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvera “Vera” Sakaluk; and his siblings, John Sakaluk, Charles Sakaluk and Mildred Olivo. He is survived by his three daughters, Karen Sakaluk (Warner), of New Kensington, Janet (Timothy) Rumon, of Apple Valley, Minn., and Laura (John) Hurst, of Greenville, N.C.; one brother, Walter Sakaluk; nine grandchildren, Christine (Dino) Riganas, Jessica Warner, Sarah (Ben) Johnson, Hannah and Leah Rumon, Brittany (Robert) Carlyle, Emily, Heather and Jonathan Hurst; and one great-granddaughter, Annabeth Carlyle, and a future great-granddaughter Riganas. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., Johnpaul Bertucci, supervisor/owner, family owned and operated for over 60 years, 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold. Prayers of transfer will take place at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.
