Obituary

Thomas Gerald Snyder died in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania on January 14, 2023, surrounded by his loving and adored family. Tom was born in 1944 in Paw Paw, Michigan, the only child of the late Bill and Dorothy (Lehr). He graduated in 1966 from Michigan State University, where he met Nancy Clark. They married in 1967 and had three children.

Tom spent 36 years in the procurement division at Alcoa, with postings in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, State College, Davenport, Evansville, and Sao Luis, Brasil, where his young family spent four memorable years. A lifelong lover of adventure and travel, Tom eagerly sought out opportunities to live in different parts of the country and after he retired, he and Nancy spent many years driving a succession of RVs throughout the United States, including a memorable trip to Alaska. They eventually settled in Arizona and Homer, Michigan, where they enjoyed living lakeside in their home state.

Never content to be idle, Tom taught himself stained glass, woodworking, and leather work, and he enjoyed sharing his work with family and friends. An outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, he was equally appreciative of Nancy’s passion for the dulcimer and the creative pursuits and careers of his sons and grandchildren.

Family was the most important thing to Tom, and he led his life with an open and accepting heart. He modelled unconditional love, support, and pride to his sons, daughters-in-law, and grand- and great-grandchildren, and was devoted to Nancy, the love of his life. Tom leaves Nancy, sons Brian (Diane), Scott (Hollie), and Jason (Erica), grandchildren Adrienne, Christie, Andrew, Jonah, Ethan, Will, Meredith Susan, Meredith Lynn, and Aliza, and great-granddaughter Adley. He also leaves his aunt Ida. He will be dearly missed by in-laws Chris and Steve Fogle and Kathy and Ron James, several nieces and nephews, and many friends across the country. The family is greatly appreciative of the support and friendship of Brent Kaspar these last few months, and for the friends and family who supported Tom and Nancy.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Giunta-Bertucci Funeral Home, Inc. 1509 Fifth Ave. Arnold, Pa 15068, JohnPaul Bertucci, Owner, Supervisor.
