Ron or "Duke" as he was known at USNA, were classmates and friends. He and I were both football players from Western Pennsylvania. I grew up in Latrobe, not that far from New Kensington. Duke and I were stationed in New London, Ct. during the late sixties. We would get together in later years when he visited another classmate, George Kachigian in Coronado, CA.
I send my sincerest condolences but ask that you take courage in knowing that he is in a far better place with his beloved Joann.
Sincerely, Jim Beatty

I am a Classmate of Ron's and, although I did not see him very often, he was a good friend. We shared sorrows when each of our wives passed away and we shared happys at other times, mostly at Class Reunions. Ron and I were in the same Summer Company for Second Class Summer when we went to Halifax on the USS Antediam and also went thru Amphibious Training at Little Creek. We became good friends that summer but our service lives did not cross after Graduation. I offer my sympathy and condolences to the family and I am sure that he and Joanne are reunited as they should be. He was a fine friend and a great Classmate. RIP, Ron!
