Joyce and I grew up together and were like brother and sister for about the first ten years of our lives. Her father was my maternal grandmother's brother. She taught me many things about life. When she was about twelve years old, she was with an elderly neighbor lady at the moment the lady died. Joyce told me that day that she saw a light go up from the lady through the ceiling of the bedroom where the lady had passed away.
