Jerome W. Marelli

Jerome W. Marelli, 74, of Allison Park, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, in his residence. Born Jan. 5, 1942, in New Kensington, he was a son of the late William “Joe” and Violet (Szafranski) Marelli. Jerry was a 30-year railroad engineer at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp. and secretary/treasurer for 13 years of the local Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers union. In his early years, he was a singer with Crossroads band and played in the tri-state area. He loved his family, enjoyed cooking and the Steelers. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vera R. (Williams) Marelli, of Allison Park; daughter, Traci Marelli (Darko) Jurkovic, of Allison Park; grandsons, Vaughn and Evan Jurkovic; and brother, Robert (Denise) Marelli. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner-supervisor. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Dr. Richard Nugara presiding. Entombment will be in Union Cemetery Mausoleum, Arnold.
